The practice

Fees and reimbursement

The practice is contracted under sector 2 (secteur 2, where doctors may charge above the standard Assurance Maladie rate) with the OPTAM scheme (a commitment to moderate, capped fee excesses): controlled dépassements d'honoraires (fee excesses), carte Vitale (French health insurance card) accepted and tiers payant (direct billing of the insurer) applied to the Sécurité sociale share. The amount for each procedure is always announced before it is carried out, and a written quote (devis) is provided before any surgery.

Your coverage, explained clearly

Drs Chetrit and Srour are contracted under sector 2 and belong to OPTAM: the Assurance Maladie (French national health insurance) reimburses you on the basis of the standard contracted rates, and the deliberately moderate dépassements d'honoraires (fee excesses) are covered in full or in part by most mutuelles (top-up health insurance).

Tiers payant (direct billing) applies to the Sécurité sociale share: it is settled directly with the practice by electronic transmission, so you only pay the balance. ALD exonérante (long-term illness status with full exemption) or Complémentaire santé solidaire (means-tested supplementary health cover): 100% of the base rate is covered.

WHAT IS OPTAM?
A commitment signed with the Assurance Maladie: moderate, capped fee excesses (dépassements d'honoraires), for better reimbursement by the Sécurité sociale and your mutuelle.

Surgery: a written quote every time

Cataract surgery: the operation is covered by the Assurance Maladie. Depending on the implant chosen and the surgical fees, a balance may remain payable by you — it appears on the written quote (devis) given before the operation, to be sent to your mutuelle (the remaining cost is often nil or low).

Laser refractive surgery: an elective procedure not reimbursed by the Sécurité sociale, but many mutuelles offer a dedicated allowance. A detailed quote (devis) is given to you after the pre-operative assessment. Dr Srour's fees (TransPRK, LASIK, Presbylasik).

Your questions about fees

Are you contracted with the health insurance system?

Yes. Drs Chetrit and Srour are contracted under sector 2 and belong to OPTAM: moderate, capped fee excesses, and Assurance Maladie reimbursement on the basis of the standard contracted rates.

Do you offer tiers payant (third-party payment)?

Yes, on the Sécurité sociale share: it is settled directly with the practice by electronic transmission. You only pay the balance, which is generally reimbursed afterwards by your mutuelle.

How much does a consultation cost?

€65 for a consultation, €100 with OCT imaging. The exact amount depends on the tests carried out and is always announced to you before the consultation.

Is cataract surgery reimbursed?

Yes, it is covered by the Assurance Maladie. Depending on the implant and the fees, a balance may remain payable by you: it appears on the written quote given before the operation.

Is refractive surgery reimbursed?

No, not by the Sécurité sociale (elective procedure). Many mutuelles offer a dedicated allowance — check with the quote that we give you.

Will I receive a quote before surgery?

Yes, always: a detailed written quote is given before any operation, so you can ask your mutuelle and know your exact out-of-pocket cost before you decide.

A question about your coverage?

The practice team will be glad to help, before or during your appointment.
